Russ Davies, the man behind Modus Recordings and Cinnamon Chasers, is someone I honestly do not know much about. What I do know however is that I will follow his every release from this moment, until I the day I go deaf. The man seems to have been active on the scene for quite some time, and I am almost ashamed of not having heard of him until Anjunadeep put out their eight compilation album last year. This remix by Jody Wisternoff and James Grant in pure joy in the form of music, and a stand out track in the Anjunadeep catalogue.
I usually don’t like to describe music in words, because they never do the tunes justice. In this case however, there is one word that I can use without any hesitation: Energetic. This tune gives me so much energy, and it is refreshing to be reminded of that I can get a kick out of music with a genuinely positive vibe. Considering how dark and serious a majority of the music that I make myself is, I guess it is nice to know that there is place for more even in a heart like mine. In short: Do not sleep on this one.
